I've spent a decent amount of time trying to get claude code to work well with google slides and i cannot for the life of me get it to work. PPT is XML so its easy for AI to do it well.

Same here. I think the main issue is the lack of a feedback loop. None of the Drive integrations I've used so far provide an easy way for the LLM to evaluate how each slide is looking when creating Google Slides.

Whereas when building a pptx it seems to be able to render as images and check its own work before finishing.

I've just been building as pptx and uploading to Slides. It gets me 70-80% of the way there on a good day ;-)

i totally agree with claude code missing something that knowledge workers need - an environment where people can collaborate.

but i can’t understate what AI coding tools have helped me unlock: building at scale, automation of manual workflows, and more.

however, this places someone like me, in operations, at the center of the AI evolution, as someone building and managing tools and products. not super sustainable.

there has to be something else or something new to bring along others who aren’t systems builders into AI systems. maybe it’ll be something like cowork if claude adds more capabilities? or something totally different…we shall see!
